The ficus trifecta group of plants are relatively easy to grow, and the rubber plant is supposedly the easiest of them all. However, it will need specialist care and an owner who knows what they are doing to keep it healthy and thriving all year round. Here are some tips for keeping a rubber plant healthy, showing that it’s easy to take care of one, but might just take a little preparation:
- Position it in a bright spot. Rubber plants definitely need sunlight. Place yours near to a window, preferably one that is south facing, or even near to multiple windows.
- It doesn’t take too much watering. Rubber plants are relatively low maintenance in this respect. You should water them every seven days or so in summer and less in winter.
- You can keep the house at a steady temperature. Rubber plants shouldn’t be too fussy and should thrive whatever the temperature, so think about you, not the plants.
