Garage doors have come a long way in the last few years, not least in terms of appearance. They aren’t the functional pieces of metal they once were; instead, they are high tech, thermally efficient, long lasting, and very aesthetically pleasing as well. Garage doors with window and doors is a popular combination that encompasses the entire exterior of the home and draws it all together into one lovely unified design. It accounts for all parts of the exterior, so you can enjoy coming home every single day to a sigh that fills you with happiness.

Many of us have patios that are made up of concreate slabs. The slabs may have been there for years and over time they can become discoloured. This can change the whole appearance of the patio area and even just after one winter you will notice the slabs start to dull. There are a number of ways in which you can improve the appearance of the patio without having to bring in the professionals. If you have got a jet wash or can borrow one, then this is the best way to clean them. Without the use of any chemicals, you can simply blast each slab to remove the dirt build up. This can take a little while to do as you will need to go over small areas on each slab individually.
If you do not have access to a jet wash then you may want to buy some patio cleaner and a hard bristle broom. Spray the cleaner on to the patio and then use the broom to scrub each slab. This will often not work as well as a jet wash but still can make a big difference to the overall look.

Since the outbreak of Covid 19 and the following lockdown period people have begun to see their garden more and more as an extension of their home and have started putting a lot of thought into the planning and maintenance of their garden. The cost of renovating a garden can be great but with help from family and friends if possible, the perfect garden could be within reach.
The first step to the garden of your dreams is to measure it out and draw a simple plan. This will enable you to try out ideas on paper before starting any of the hard construction work. The internet has lots of ideas for planning a garden design if you are unsure where to start.
Once you have decided on a plan, mark out your garden design with pegs and string to show where edging or patio areas will be. Now will be the time to engage the help of family and friends as digging up areas of the garden is extremely hard work and the cost of hiring mechanical diggers can be expensive.
A visit to internet auction sites can be worthwhile when buying paving slabs or decking and asking around locally for any materials left over from projects is another way to reduce the costs.
The final stage of the project is the planting stage which can be costly, but money can be saved by buying plants from plant sales or car boot sales or even taking cuttings from friends and neighbours plants, with their permission obviously!

The allium species is huge, and it includes many edible plants such as onions, garlic, chives and more. Alliums that you grow in your garden come in many different colours; the shades available present a whole host of choices for your landscaping theme. If you grow allium bulbs from the beginning, you can expect them to thrive in the right conditions and they will usually do very well in borders.
Allium bulbs can do very well in the UK, provided they have the right conditions and are given the best start in life. If they are provided with the right kind of environment, they can also grow very well in containers. These are some of the ways you can grow allium bulbs successfully and enjoy the blooms to their full advantage.
Giving alliums the best start in life: how to choose, plant and grow allium bulbs
From the start, the quality of the bulbs and the conditions you provide them with are essential. If allium bulbs are going to flourish, they will need to be kept dry, otherwise they can begin to rot before they are even planted. If you have a bulb that feels damp or looks to be visually damaged, this will probably affect its ability to grow into a health plant. Buying bulbs from quality suppliers, garden centres or online plant shops will help to ensure you get a product that will grow well.
What do allium bulbs need? How to grow allium bulbs successfully and ensure you will be able to enjoy quality, long-lasting flowers.
Alliums are very popular and relatively commonplace in the gardening world. They can be grown very successfully, as long as you follow the right guidelines and give allium bulbs the best start in life. Here are some guidelines to help you grow allium bulbs successfully in your garden:
- Make sure you plant your bulbs in a space where they will get enough shelter once they begin to grow. This will prevent them getting blown over, as the actual allium blooms can be a little delicate.
- Make sure the bulbs aren’t left out exposed before planting, and ensure that the bulbs are not planted in an exposed place to help avoid rot.
- Do not disturb them too much. Alliums can naturally multiply, so ensure they can be in a place that is mostly undisturbed and they can bloom again from year to year.
- Prepare your soil appropriately first. You should dig over the soil and remove weeds before you begin the process of planting the bulbs.
- Make sure you plant the bulbs at the right time of year. Usually you should aim to plant allium bulbs around autumn time.
- Plant the bulbs at the correct depth. This is around four time the diameter of the bulbs.
Remember you can also plant allium bulbs in containers for beautiful blooms, that will be protected away from other plants. Look into the different species of allium to find the type that will suit your garden.

Gardening is a great hobby, and one that more people pick up when spending extended periods of time at home. There can be a lot that people can enjoy about gardening, but it’s useful to know where to start when you are new to growing plants and flowers.
The top tip to take on board is to create zones and ensure you have the right areas mapped out within your garden. This involves planning the different areas you have, including the areas that get the most sun, those that are more in shade, the types of soil, and the plants and flowers that are already growing. Then, it’s time to think about seasons. Having a seasonal plan for your garden is important, for example, daffodils will come out in the spring and will need sun. Then summer flowering plants like begonias will start to come through, so this needs to be taken into account.
